How We Authenticate Our Vintage Luxury Designer Bags
Vintage Sweet is a registered business in Hong Kong. Every piece we sell is authenticated by licensed industry experts and checked by our in-house team, and we stand by our sources and our authentication.
Our authentication process
- Trusted sourcing. We buy from established suppliers and vendors whose pieces have already been through several rounds of authentication.
- Expert authentication. Each piece is authenticated by licensed industry experts.
- In-house check. Our own team checks every piece for authenticity and condition.
- Inspection on arrival. Every piece is inspected when it reaches us, before it is shipped to you.
Together, these steps are how we keep counterfeits out of our stock.
Entrupy digital certificates
Entrupy is an independent authentication company based in New York and founded in 2012. Its app takes microscopic images of a piece and uses AI to compare them against a large database of authentic items, then issues a digital certificate that can be looked up online. Entrupy states an accuracy rate above 99% and supports more than 20 luxury brands, including Chanel, Hermès, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Fendi and Céline. It is used by resale businesses and is not affiliated with any luxury brand.
An optional extra. For added assurance, an Entrupy digital certificate is available on request at an additional cost. Once the piece is verified, the certificate is issued to you. Coverage depends on the piece, so ask us about the one you have in mind.
Chanel pieces without paperwork. Where a Chanel piece comes without its serial sticker and authenticity card, we arrange a free Entrupy check and provide the digital certificate.
Cards and stickers on vintage pieces
Authenticity cards and serial stickers are often lost over decades. A missing card does not mean a bag is fake, which is why we authenticate the bag itself rather than relying on paperwork.
Condition, with full transparency
Every bag is pre-owned or vintage and may show signs of use. We believe in transparency: each listing carries photos, videos or a written description of condition, and we're happy to send more detail on request. If anything is unclear, message us on WhatsApp or Instagram before you buy.
If something isn't right
In the unlikely event a piece is verified as unauthentic within 7 days of purchase, with supporting evidence, it is covered under our returns policy. Full terms are on our Purchase Details page. You're welcome to have a piece independently authenticated for extra peace of mind.
